Vera Playa is situated on the Mediterranean roughly half way between the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. The nearest airport is Almeria, roughly 100 kms to the south west, or an hour by car on the motorway. This is served by daily charter flights from the UK. An alternative, which is growing in popularity, is Murcia airport, which has scheduled flights from some airports. This is about 2 hours away by good roads and motorways. The easiest, and often the cheapest airport to fly to is Alicante. This is 200 kms away, or about 2 hours by motorway. Most UK airports have daily flights here, often at discount prices if you book carefully. A car is advisable, as public bus services are few and far between, although we have been assured that it is possible to reach Vera town from Alicante by bus.
There is a bus from Almeria airport run by Tarleton Travel, but we strongly advise you to check that it meets your requirements before booking your flight.

Prices of cars vary, but one of the cheapest we have found is www.carjet.com. A small car, with air conditioning, can cost as little as £75.00 per week.

Driving to Vera Playa is rather a long way, however you do it, but the route with the least driving is from Bilbao, which is about 500 miles! From Calais it is about 1400 miles. Most of can be motorway, some where you have to pay, and some free. Hotels are available on route, often at the roadside. Some people prefer to use the ordinary roads, but this takes longer, OK if you are not in a hurry.

Although not yet shown on the maps, Vera Playa is situated some 5kms north of Garrucha, and 7kms east of Vera, on the road between Garrucha and Villaricos. The turn-off for Torremar Natura is also the entrance for the Parque Acuatico (water park) and the large CONSUM supermarket. Turn left at the end of the road, and the gate to the complex is about 100 yards, just past the bar ‘A Toda Vela’.
